Alesis Recital 88 Key Keyboard
The Recital is a full-size digital piano with 88 semi-weighted keys. It has five voices: acoustic piano, electric piano, organ, synth and bass. It's possible to combine two of the voices by using the Layer mode to create a full, rich tone. There's also a Split function that allows you to have separate sounds on each side of the keyboard. That means you can play bass with the left hand and the melody using another instrument with the right hand at the same time, for instance.
While the other modes are probably better suited to more advanced players, the Lesson mode is aimed at beginners. In this mode, the keyboard is split evenly in two with each side having exactly the same pitch and voice. This means that a tutor can play a piece first and have the student play back exactly the same thing. The sound is played through powerful 20-watt built-in speakers. When you want to practise in silence, simply plug a set of headphones into the headphone socket.
There are various connectors on the back of the Recital, adding to its versatility. As well as the headphone socket, there's an input to attach an optional sustain pedal. There are also RCA outputs so that you can connect the Recital to a recorder, mixer, amplifier or PA system. It's also possible to connect this digital piano to a computer using the USB MIDI output. The Recital can be powered using the included power adapter or by 6 D cell batteries (not included).
