Lead by Toshio Kashio, one of the four founding Kashio brothers, the already well established electronics company Casio launched their first electronic musical instrument in 1980 with Casio CT-201, aimed at creating musical instruments with value for money for all musicians.
Today, Casio create a wide range of keyboards and digital pianos to cover all levels of playing experience and playing situations, from beginners at home to professional musicians on stage and in the studio. From the miniature SA series of keyboards and Casio's LK series of keyboards feature light-up keys to help absolute beginners learn songs, musical pieces and theory, Casio's keyboards are a firm affordable favourite with many of our customers who are just starting out.
Their digital pianos cover both the home and stage player, with the their lightweight and compact Privia digital pianos being a gigging musicians favourite, whilst the state of the art technology packed Celviano series looking splendid in any home with their traditional cabinet designs. Indeed the excellence of the Celviano range is bolstered by the recent additions of the Celviano Grand Hybrid Pianos designed with C. Bechstein, which combine a grand piano hammer action to giving an incredibly refined touch with the tone of 3 of the worlds most renowned pianos.
Casio offer a wide selection of Digital Piano’s which suit every ability and playing style. These are split across different ranges. The Casio Celviano is a range which sits in the middle, offering a nice choice of traditionally styled Piano’s at affordable price points. Casio also have a higher range called Grand-Hybrid which has a real wooden key action and has been developed in collaboration with Bechstein, a world renowned manufacturer of traditional Upright Pianos.
Casio also offer a range named Privia which are ideal where space is limited. These consist of both portable (stage piano) options as well as instruments more suited to remain in one place. Whether in the hallway, a childs bedroom or anywhere that space needs to be considered a Privia is a great option. Some other manufacturers also offer similarly equipped compact instruments however they differ in that the depth of the instrument means that there is no ‘garage’ for the keyboard cover to retract to. Casio Privia pianos have developed a hinged keyboard cover which means that the instrument still offers this facility in the most compact design possible.
All of the Privia range offer a Triple sensor Graded Hammer Action which means that unlike most digital pianos, it offers an additional sensor which really benefits players who play more intricate pieces. The entry level PX770 offers other useful features like Concert Play (Play along with a real orchestra), Synthetic Ebony & Ivory keys to reduce finger slip which is all contained in a small form factor. At the other end of the scale is the PX870 also offers Damper and Action modelling and an improved piano voice.
