What We Think
The HiGloss version of Faiths Mercury is an extremely comfortable playing experience; in addition it manages to produce a full and rich tone. Not only that but it’s also a gorgeous looking electro-acoustic parlour guitar. Faiths take on the parlour, their “Mercury”, is unique in design due to the neck joining the body at the 12th fret as opposed to the 14th. This allows the for the sound hole to be further from the bridge than usual, therefore the warmer tones are amplified more so than the brighter tones that are usually most apparent from parlour style guitars. The Mercury Manages to delivers a warm bass, reduced bite in the mid and bright treble making it ideal for finger picking and solo pieces. When plugged into an amplifier via the Shadow Performer Preamp it becomes a fantastic gigging guitar, the rich sounds captured wonderfully by the Shadow Nanoflex Pickup. Comfortably to play, rich sounding and ready to gig, the Mercury is an incredible parlour electro-acoustic guitar.
The same basic design as the FMEHG parlour models, but with a small 'scoop' taken from the body at the 12th fret to allow for easier upper fret access. Designed upon request for US songwriting legend, Beth Neilsen Chapman. Faith HiGloss series guitars use a gloss-lacquered Solid Engelmann Spruce top matched to HiGloss finished Solid Rosewood on the back and sides. The classic combination of Spruce and Rosewood delivers a bright and harmonically rich timbre. Faith HiGloss guitars are bound with Solid Flamed Maple and feature Macassan Ebony fingerboards, headplates, heelplates, bridges and bridge pins. Electro models feature the Shadow NanoFlex II undersaddle pickup and Shadow Performer Tuner preamp system. All HiGloss series Faith Guitars are complete with a Faith Hardcase.
