What We Think
The Fender Pro Junior is a stunning small Tweed amp that encapsulates the classic Fender tube sparkle in a fraction on the size. It has a lone 10" speaker for a tight, well balanced sound that breaks up at low volumes. The Mark IV has possible the simplest controls you could ask for. A Volume control and a single Tone control that will be a sweeping EQ control for the whole amp. That’s it no tweaking required just a great sounding amp for any guitar you put through it. The Pro Jr takes pedals incredibly well. Using the clean setting as a clean slate adding a conglomerate of pedals is easy and sound great. There are no walls on your creativity.
The Fender Pro Junior IV 1x12 15W Valve Combo is the newest iteration of the popular Pro Junior format. These small amplifiers have become renowned for their grab-and-go size with real valve tone and classic Fender tonal breakup when the volume is cranked. If you like the old-fashioned approach to amplifying your guitar (the louder you turn it up, the more overdrive), you'll love the Pro Junior. Fender has listened to its customers and modified the Pro Junior IV to include new vintage design touches and a modified tone circuit. The new volume circuit breaks up more gradually into overdrive when turned up and allows precise adjustment from crystal clean through to gnarly saturation. The compact size of this amplifier makes it the ideal choice for the busy guitarist who needs a portable solution for jam sessions and rehearsals. It delivers 15 watts of real valve tone which is easily loud enough for small gigs where it can be pushed into overdrive at manageable volume levels; a feature that also makes it ideal for recording. The simple control arrangement makes the Pro Junior IV the ideal pedal platform amplifier. Don't let the compact size fool you, this amplifier is a serious tool with quality tones.
The Fender Pro Junior IV packs in 2x12AX7s and 2x EL84 power amp valves into its small chassis. This creates an authentic valve warmth and organic response, along with a highly musical breakup when cranked. The volume control acts as both level and overdrive adjustment - just like vintage non-master volume tube amps - so the higher you turn the volume up, the more tube saturation you'll have. This simple operation and compact size is the reason for the Pro Junior's enduring popularity, giving you vintage amp response but without the ear-splitting volume that older amps required for tube saturation.
The Pro Junior IV has a modified volume circuit for a more gradual increase in overdrive breakup, giving you more accurate control over your drive level. It also has a better low-end response than its predecessors and can create crystal clean sounds through to smooth saturation. The valves give the Pro Junior a musical response to player dynamics and guitar volume control adjustments.
The Pro Junior's small dimensions make it the ideal grab-and-go amplifier for rehearsals, small gigs, and jam sessions. 15 watts of valve tone means the Pro Junior can create real power amp saturation at sensible volume levels, giving it increased usability for recording musicians. This is a no-nonsense solution with a simple control layout for guitarists who like to plug in and get great tone with no fuss.
The Pro Junior IV has new vintage design touches including a lacquered tweed covering, leather handle, red pilot light and '50s style grill cloth. It could almost convince your audience you have a mini Fender Bassman combo on stage.
The Pro Junior is simple to use and can create great tones with minimal fuss. It takes pedals extremely well and is the ideal unit for your front-end drive and modulation effects. Practice sessions, rehearsals, last-minute jam sessions; all are possible with the portable Pro Junior IV.
