The G6120T is probably the guitar that comes to mind when you think of a Gretsch. Even though the Gretsch range is quite diverse, the G6120T has that iconic vintage look.
It's a lovely big, hollowbody guitar, that has all of the Gretsch signature stylings. The bigsby will get you into 50s and 60s rockabilly and the famous Filterton pickups have got that clean, harmonic richness expected from a Gretsch. The pickups on this guitar have got a bit of a twist though...
High Sensitivity Filtertron Pickups
The G6120T has got High Sensitivity Filtertrons designed for that bright and open tone with enhanced dynamic range. Humbuckers with big covers and open coils that will respond to your right hand picking technique, that much more. This is important when Gretsch guitars are known for Blues/Pop/Rock and Country, where dynamics are important.
They deliver really clear high end with a glass mid-range presence. And fortunately, they don't sacrifice that punchy low-end.
The Bigsby is one of the smoothest tremolo systems ever made and has been used by countless artists to create subtle movement in chords and sweet bends. Nothing quite feels like Bigsby tremolo due to the single large spring that creates the movement evenly across all of the strings. If you have loved the sounds of pop and rock throughout the 50's and 60's chances are you have heard plenty of Bigsby playing.
