Founded in 1959 by a small family run guitar shop, at the base of Mount Takamine, Japan, the company is now one of the biggest names in acoustic guitars today. Taking the same name as the mountain in 1962, Takamine celebrated 50 years of production in 2012 and are still going strong today, with the outstanding Pro Series amongst their increasingly popular ranges.
The Pro 4 series currently features only two guitars, the P4DC and the CP4DC-OV. Both guitars have a Solid Spruce top offering the best tonality, with the CP4 boasting a Solid Ovangkol Back and sides, and the P4DC opting for the Solid Sapele. These instruments truly come alive when plugged in, thanks to the Cool tube CTP3 preamp, which offers tube tones at a low voltage. Takamine again have crafted two gorgeous guitars, with smooth asymmetrical neck profiles, slick looking binding and golden hardware. You'd be hard pressed to find anything else of this prestige
