Models in the range have a solid spruce soundboard , this being the heart of a acoustic piano , and the select spruce that Kawai use gives the K series its very distinct , warm powerful tone that is liked and sought by many concert pianists the world over. From the K200 upwards the pianos have Kawai’s own developed Millennium iii action with ABS carbon composite parts mahogany hammers and double felted heads , which all combined gives the pianos a very responsive fast action which is a joy to play. The K series has extended key lengths which again add to the excellent response and playing experience of these pianos. And again the key surface is Neotex which offers a natural texture to the keys very much like Ivory and ebony. The models have between 4-5 back posts supporting and enhancing the overall sound of the piano, also fitted to the soundboard are contour bars, which reshape the speaking area of the soundboard imitating a grand piano sound. A nice and very useful feature is the extended music rest, being longer you can support longer sheets of music very easily. As I mentioned earlier the models from the K200 are fitted with a soft fall lid, to save any chance of any little accidents! All the models have 3 cast brass pedals, the middle one being a practice pedal for quieter practice in the evening time. And from the K200 the models have double brass casters for ease of movement. Throughout the range different models come in different colour finishes to suit any home.
