The Kdp series of digital piano is Kawai's entry to the digital piano marketplace, offering a stylish design, quality of sound and a whole host of features not usually found at this level of instrument and it is a lovely instrument to play. One of the first things to notice is the quality of the cabinet design from Kawai, nice clean lines of design and finished off with a sliding key cover. Very important to myself and most players is the quality and feel of the action and keys. The Kdp series has the acclaimed RHC11 Kawai action on board, with 3 sensors per key giving the player great accuracy on repeated note playing and a great range of expression between staccato and legato playing. The compact action has no springs in its construction, using hammer weights at different parts of the keyboard, giving very accurate up and down key movement and feeling to your playing. The sound from the Kdp series is the acclaimed and incomparable Shigeru grand piano SK-EX sample, which employs full 88 key sampling , giving the piano sound a rich dynamic responsiveness, which is loved the world over by pianists of every nationality. The piano has additional sounds for variety, electric pianos, organs, harpsichord and strings to name a few. Giving you the player endless hours of playing pleasure. One of the great additions of this series is the onboard lessons feature, taking the player through favorites such as Burgmuller, Czerny and the Alfred series of piano pieces, all accessed to learn through the lesson feature.A standard feature that many players require today is a headphone socket, for evening or quiet practice. Kawai gives you a enhanced headphone feature with its SHS system, offering 3 different presets for enhanced sound and playing pleasure. Allowing you to select Open, semi open, closed ear headphone types and more, so you are able to pick the best one to suit your playing style. A first at this level of digital piano is Bluetooth connectivity! A feature that is becoming more and more desired by musicians in these times of usage of streaming music etc. With Bluetooth you can connect to Kawai's virtual tech app, which opens up a fantastic array of features that you can adjust within the piano to suit your room style and your playing , fantastic feature . The app also offers educational aspects to players performance and general learning techniques.
