Founded in 1959 by a small family-run guitar shop, at the base of Mount Takamine, Japan, the company is now one of the biggest names in acoustic guitars today. Taking the same name as the mountain in 1962, Takamine celebrated 50 years of production in 2012 and are still going strong today, with the outstanding Pro Series amongst their increasingly popular ranges. All the Takamine Pro series guitars are crafted in Japan, where dedicated luthiers create the highest quality instruments with only the finest seasoned woods. Pairing traditional with modern crafting techniques, Takamine have mastered the art of making a work horse guitar.
Within the Pro 1 series, you will find meaty, fully rounded tones with the P1DC dreadnought electro-acoustic, The jumbo-sized P1JC with its excellent balanced tones, perfect for rhythmic playing, and finally the P1NC, a NEX/Grand auditorium guitar crafted to compliment the vocalist.
Each guitar in this series boasts a resonant X-braced Solid Cedar top with Sapele back and sides all finished in a gorgeous Gloss satin natural finish, whilst the mahogany necks are topped with rosewood for extra warmth. A unique Takamine design, the split bone saddle bridge offers unbeatable intonation stability.
In addition to looks and tone, this fantastic range all feature the acclaimed CT4B preamp, positioned near the neck joint for easy access to the built-in tuner, EQ and volume controls which compliment the Palathetic under saddle pick up perfectly.
