Founded in 1959 by a small family-run guitar shop, at the base of Mount Takamine, Japan, the company is now one of the biggest names in acoustic guitars today. Taking the same name as the mountain in 1962, Takamine celebrated 50 years of production in 2012 and are still going strong today, with the outstanding Pro Series amongst their increasingly popular ranges.

The next range up from the Pro 1 series, the Pro 2 P2DC Dreadnought electro-acoustic has a few subtle but improved differences. Amongst these changes is the inclusion of a Solid Spruce top.  Lighter in appearance, the Solid Spruce top offers improved tonality for better sustain, clearer tone and adds extra resonance to the instrument. Like the Pro 1 counterparts, the P2DC also shares the Sapele back and sides, satin gloss finish and unique split bone saddle, as well as the CT4B preamp system and under saddle, pick up. This all combines to create one of the most well designed and balanced electro-acoustics on the market today.
