When Bob Taylor started working at the Guitar building company known as American Dream in 1972 he was just an Employee but then when Sam Raddng decided to sell the business in 1974 Bob and two other employees jumped at the chance of buying the company. When looking to change the name of the brand they wanted something small enough to fit onto the headstock and seen as though Bob Taylor was the main builder (and his name was short enough) they decided to re-brand the company as Taylor. Fast forward 40 something years and Taylor has become one of the biggest names in acoustic guitars. The 500 Series from Taylor offers a selection of gorgeous exotic tonewoods to choose from such as Mahogany, Spruce and Cedar as well as a range of body sizes. If that is not enough choice for you then there is even a choice of 12 string models as well as two types of cutaway models featuring Florentine and Venetian cutaways and none cut body shapes. Favoured by finger pickers due to the exotic Mahogany back and sides these guitars have a really warm and girthy tone to them. All models are equipped with Taylors own under the saddle system Expression 2. All models come with hard cases included for safe transportation.
