Stromberg-Voisinet Serenader Tenor Banjo | Used | Leyland Store
Please note this is for restoration/parts
Here we have a Used Stromberg-Voisinet Serenader Tenor Banjo. This is from approx. late 1920’s -1930 (Stromberg changed their name to Kay in 1931).
This is a long scale Tenor (23”), resonator banjo that is pot metal flanged. It has 10 7/8” velum head. It has a Pearloid resonator and headstock. The neck heal is carved and features patented adjuster for the neck angle.
There are some signs of the instruments age and wear and tear. The pearloid veneer is delaminating on the back of the headstock, There are some cracks to the metal flange and pitting to all metal work. The thumb-screws for the resonator have been replaced with washers and nuts and there is currently not bridge fitted. (please refer to the pictures). There is no bridge fitted to this model and it would need work to get it playable again.
This is however a highly desirable model from one of banjos golden eras.
