This Specific Digital Hybrid Piano is one of best sounding pianos ever it would be perfect for any piano player who is looking for only the best quality
What We Think
Some would say that “nothing beats the feel of an acoustic piano”. But Yamaha have fixed that problem. Their flagship “Avant Grand” digital pianos have real Yamaha acoustic actions, meaning that from the tip of your fingers right up to the hammers, they are identical to acoustic pianos. One of my favourites in the hybrid range is the NU1X.
Replacing the NU1 in September of 2017, the NU1X brought a whole load of new features, boasting 15 voices including the samples of Yamahas World class CFX Grand and The Bosendorfer Imperial. It’s amazing how close it sounds to the real thing too with its two-way amplification system and you can really see the craftmanship that has went in to designing and building this piano. Each key has its own unique feel, just as its acoustic counterpart, as it has Yamahas own “Specialised Upright Action”. When compared to the action in a U3 upright, it’s extremely difficult to tell any different.
You don’t just have to stop at the NU1X though. The series also has Hybrid grand pianos, the Flagship model being the N3X. From its acoustic grand action to its spruce speaker cones, which are cut-offs from the soundboards of Yamaha’s best grand pianos, it really is the ultimate substitute for a real acoustic.

Yamaha NU1X Avantgrand Hybrid Digital Piano Polished Ebony
The Yamaha NU1X Avantgrand Hybrid Digital Piano, Polished Ebony blends traditional style and quality with modern practicality and advanced digital features. 15 voices including the renowned Yamaha CFX and B sendorfer Imperial, 256 polyphony, specialised piano action with acrylic and phoenolic resin and virtual resonance modelling ensure the NU1X produces a professional and moving playing experience for both player and audience. CFX binaural sampling, USB and Bluetooth give you all the modern features you need for headphone use, integration with other devices and modern app use. This hybrid piano truly blurs the line between acoustic and digital providing the best of both worlds for demanding players.
The touch and feel of a piano is vitally important to any pianist, whether they're just starting out or playing at a professional level. The NU1X delivers an authentic playing that represents the next level in digital innovation and development. A genuine acoustic upright piano action allows the player to fully connect with the nuances of the instrument whilst the digital aspects offer versatility, control and countless options for creation.
The NU1X also features a damper pedal that allows you to use half-pedal techniques, as well as having more control over sustain and reverberation. This pedal recreates the subtle changes in resistance that you might experience whilst using a grand piano pedal, and adds to the feel of a real piano.
The NU1X features sound carefully sampled from some of the finest instruments that Yamaha has ever made - the CFX full concert grand piano and the Bösendorfer Imperial. To complement its sparkling highs and full-bodied bass, the NU1 utilises newly-developed acoustic technology unique to Yamaha to reproduce the characteristic resonance felt when playing an acoustic piano. Switching between the bold palette of the CFX and the warmth of the Imperial is easy.
Virtual Resonance Modelling reproduces the resonance inherent in a grand piano's body. It calculates the various states of the strings for all 88 notes from one instant to the next for rich expression and sound development.
The Yamaha NUX1 features advanced binaural sampling technology which means the sound you'll hear through your headphones when practising silently is remarkably lifelike. Pianos samples recorded by specialised microphones capture localised sound information and nuances to produce a sound so natural you'll forget you;re wearing headphones at all.
The Yamaha NU1X features a simple control panel for ease of use plus a wide range of connectivity options for maximum functionality. Connect the piano directly to computers and mobile devices via USB or to sounds and recording systems via audio cables. It can even act as a Bluetooth receiver and connect with all your favourite music apps via WiFi.
The simplicity of the NU1X blends effortlessly into any setting, adding an air of elegance. With its compact design, it can be easily placed in any location whether on stage on at home. The upright design allows it to be placed against a wall for ease of use. The dark wood beautifully contrasts with the white keytops, and gives it a traditional look.
