What Steinway & Sons Say...

The design principles that have proven so successful in the making of grand pianos are applied rigorously to our uprights. Nearly half the patents acquired by Steinway relate to the upright piano; using the same quality of design, materials, and extensive hand-craftsmanship ensures that Steinway upright pianos represent an attractive alternative where space constraints rule out a grand. The Model V’s tonal quality, responsiveness of touch, and stability of performance make this the ideal introduction to musical life with a Steinway.
