Introducing the Yamaha CK76 Stage Keyboard
The Yamaha CK76 is a portable stage keyboard designed for musicians who want a wide selection of sounds, practical hands-on controls and greater playing flexibility. With 76 semi-weighted keys, it offers more range than the 61-key Yamaha CK61 while remaining lighter and more compact than the 88-key CK88.
Designed for live performance, studio work, rehearsal and playing on the go, the CK76 brings together acoustic and electric piano sounds, organ tones, synthesiser Voices, built-in speakers and battery-powered operation. Its semi-weighted keyboard is suited to players who move between piano, electric piano, organ and synth parts and want a versatile instrument without the weight of a traditional fully weighted piano action.
The CK76 is particularly worth considering if you regularly find a 61-key keyboard restrictive but do not need the full 88-key range of a conventional digital piano. Its combination of portability, built-in sound and direct controls makes it a practical choice for musicians who want a flexible instrument for different performance situations.

76 Semi-Weighted Keys for Greater Playing Flexibility
The CK76 uses a 76-key semi-weighted FSB keyboard action. This provides a wider playing range than a 61-key keyboard while maintaining the responsive feel that many organists, keyboard players and synthesiser performers prefer.
The additional keys give you more room for two-handed arrangements, bass parts, chords and lead lines. They can also reduce the need to change octaves during a performance, particularly when working with layered sounds or splitting the keyboard into different playing zones.
The CK76 is not designed to replicate the fully weighted, graded action of an acoustic piano. Its semi-weighted feel is intended to support a broad range of keyboard performance styles, making it a useful choice for musicians who prioritise versatility and portability.
Over 360 Premium Voices
The Yamaha CK76 offers more than 360 Voices, covering a broad selection of sounds for different musical styles. Piano, electric piano, organ and synthesiser sounds allow you to move between contrasting musical roles without needing several separate instruments.
For a piano-led arrangement, you can select a suitable piano sound. For jazz, soul, funk and contemporary music, electric piano and organ tones provide different textures, while synthesiser sounds add further options for pads, leads and other performance parts.
This range makes the CK76 useful for musicians who perform varied set lists or want to experiment with different sounds during songwriting and studio work. Rather than being limited to a single instrument type, it gives you a flexible selection within one portable keyboard.
Organ Engine and Hands-On Drawbars
The CK76 includes an organ engine with physical drawbars, giving players direct control over the character of their organ sound. Drawbars are a familiar feature of drawbar organs and allow you to adjust the balance of different tonal components to create your preferred sound.
For organists, this hands-on approach can be more intuitive than navigating menus to make changes. It is useful when shaping sounds for different songs or adjusting the tone during rehearsal and performance.
Combined with the CK76's wider key range and semi-weighted action, the organ section makes this keyboard particularly relevant to players who need more than conventional piano sounds from their instrument.
Electric Piano Sounds and CK OS 2.0
The CK76 launches alongside Yamaha's CK OS 2.0 update, which introduces additional sounds and performance features across the CK Series.
The update includes four new electric piano Voices, 16 new Live Set Sounds and Advanced Split Mode. The new electric piano sounds expand the available tonal choices, while the additional Live Set Sounds provide more ready-to-use performance configurations.
Advanced Split Mode offers greater flexibility when assigning sounds across the keyboard. This is useful for players who want to combine different instrument sounds or allocate separate areas of the keyboard to different musical parts.
CK OS 2.0 is also available free of charge to existing Yamaha CK61 and CK88 owners, according to Yamaha's launch information. Existing owners should follow Yamaha's official update instructions and check compatibility before installing the update.
Built-In Speakers and Battery-Powered Performance
The CK76 has built-in speakers, allowing you to hear the instrument without automatically needing a separate amplifier. This is useful for home practice, rehearsals, teaching situations and informal performances where a compact setup is preferable.
Battery-powered operation adds further flexibility. It allows the keyboard to be used away from a conventional mains connection, making it easier to play in different locations or set up for portable performances.
The CK76 weighs approximately 6.7 kg, making it practical to transport compared with many larger stage keyboards. For larger venues or performances with a full band, you may still need to connect the instrument to a suitable external amplification system or PA.
Microphone Input and Performance Connectivity
The Yamaha CK76 includes a microphone input, making it useful for musicians who want to incorporate vocals into their performance setup. This can be particularly practical for singer-songwriters, solo performers and smaller live arrangements where keeping equipment to a minimum is important.
Bluetooth audio connectivity also allows compatible audio from an external device to be played through the keyboard's sound system. This can be useful when practising with backing tracks or playing along with music.
For recording, external equipment and software integration, check the current Yamaha CK76 manual for the exact USB, MIDI and audio connection specifications and compatibility requirements before purchasing additional cables or accessories.
Design, Dimensions and Portability
The Yamaha CK76 has a compact stage-keyboard format intended for musicians who need a wider playing range without moving to a full-size 88-key instrument.
-
Width: 1,117 mm (44 inches).
-
Depth: 291 mm (11-7/16 inches).
-
Height: 109 mm (4-5/16 inches).
-
Weight: 6.7 kg (14 lb 12 oz).
Allow additional space for your keyboard stand, cables, pedal and playing position. Check that any stand or supporting surface is stable and suitable for the instrument's dimensions and weight.
The combination of a compact cabinet, built-in speakers and battery operation makes the CK76 a practical option for musicians who move between home, rehearsal spaces, studios and live performance locations.
Choosing Between the Yamaha CK61, CK76 and CK88
Yamaha CK61: Compact and Portable
The CK61 has 61 keys and is the more compact option for players who want the CK Series sound selection in a smaller format. It may suit musicians who prioritise portability and do not regularly need a wider keyboard range.
Yamaha CK76: A Wider Playing Range Without the Full 88 Keys
The CK76 offers 76 semi-weighted keys, providing more room for two-handed parts and performance splits than the CK61. It is a sensible middle option for keyboard players who want additional range but still value a lightweight, portable instrument.
Yamaha CK88: For Players Who Prefer Weighted Keys
The CK88 has 88 keys and a Graded Hammer Standard action designed to provide a more piano-like weighted response. If you primarily play traditional piano repertoire or want an action that more closely resembles an acoustic piano, the CK88 is worth comparing with the CK76.
The right choice depends on how you play. The CK61 prioritises a smaller format, the CK76 provides a wider semi-weighted playing range, and the CK88 is the more natural option for players who want a weighted piano-style action.

The Rimmers Music Specialist View
The Yamaha CK76's main attraction is its combination of a wider 76-key playing range, a semi-weighted action and a broad choice of performance sounds in a lightweight format. It offers a useful alternative for players who find 61 keys restrictive but do not need the full 88-key layout and weighted action of the CK88.
The built-in speakers, battery operation, organ drawbars and microphone input make it a flexible instrument for musicians who want to keep their equipment setup straightforward. Its suitability will depend on the playing style, the sounds you use most and whether you prefer a semi-weighted or fully weighted keyboard action.
If you are unsure which CK model is right for you, comparing the CK61, CK76 and CK88 side by side can help you assess the difference in keyboard range, feel and portability before deciding.
