Professional Stage Keyboard with Authentic Organ Drawbars, Premium Piano Sounds & Powerful Performance Control
The Yamaha YC73 Stage Keyboard has been designed for musicians who demand exceptional sound quality, immediate hands-on control and complete confidence on stage. Combining Yamaha's renowned Virtual Circuitry Modelling (VCM) Organ engine with premium acoustic pianos, electric pianos, FM synthesis and intuitive performance features, the YC73 is an incredibly versatile instrument for live performance and studio work alike.
Whether you're playing in a worship band, theatre production, function band, touring act or recording studio, the YC73 delivers inspiring sounds with a straightforward interface that lets you focus on your performance rather than navigating complicated menus.
At Rimmers Music, we've found the YC73 to be a fantastic choice for keyboard players who want professional organ performance without compromising on piano feel or portability.
Why Choose the Yamaha YC73?
The YC73 perfectly bridges the gap between a traditional stage piano and a dedicated organ. Its 73-note Balanced Hammer Standard (BHS) keyboard offers enough resistance for expressive piano playing while remaining light and responsive enough for organ techniques, synth leads and fast passages.
Instead of relying on touchscreen menus, Yamaha has equipped the YC73 with dedicated knobs, buttons and nine physical drawbars, giving you immediate access to the sounds and controls you need during a performance.
The result is an instrument that feels intuitive from the moment you switch it on.
Authentic VCM Organ Engine
The highlight of the Yamaha YC73 is its superb VCM (Virtual Circuitry Modelling) Organ Engine.
Rather than relying solely on sampled sounds, Yamaha has modelled the behaviour of classic tonewheel circuitry, recreating the subtle nuances that give vintage organs their unmistakable character.
The YC73 includes multiple organ types, from clean and pristine to rich, vintage-inspired tones full of warmth and personality.
You can adjust:
- Drawbar footages
- Key click
- Leakage
- Rotary speaker speed
- Organ character
- Drive
Everything can be edited in real time, making the YC73 feel like a genuine performance instrument rather than simply a collection of presets.
Real Drawbars with Haptic Feedback
One of the standout features of the YC73 is its nine physical drawbars.
These aren't simply sliders—they've been designed with tactile, ratcheting movement to replicate the feel of classic tonewheel organs.
Each drawbar also features integrated LED illumination, making it easy to see your settings on even the darkest stage. Custom LED colours help distinguish between upper and lower manual configurations, making live performance even more intuitive.
For organ players, this physical connection makes a huge difference to the playing experience.
Balanced Hammer Standard Keyboard
The YC73 features Yamaha's 73-note Balanced Hammer Standard (BHS) keyboard with attractive matte black keytops.
This action offers an excellent compromise between piano and organ playing styles.
Features include:
- Balanced Hammer Standard keyboard
- 73 keys
- Matte black keytops
- Responsive action
- Comfortable for piano, organ and synth playing
It's ideal for musicians who regularly switch between different keyboard sounds during a performance.
Premium Piano, Electric Piano & Synth Sounds
While the organ engine takes centre stage, the YC73 also includes Yamaha's superb collection of acoustic and electric keyboard sounds.
You'll find:
- Yamaha concert grand pianos
- Electric pianos
- FM electric pianos
- Clavinets
- Strings
- Pads
- Synth leads
- Bass sounds
- Additional keyboard voices
The powerful AWM2 sound engine combined with FM synthesis ensures every sound feels expressive and inspiring.
Layering and splitting sounds is quick and simple thanks to the dedicated front-panel controls.
Designed for Live Performance
Everything about the YC73 has been designed with performing musicians in mind.
The intuitive control panel allows instant access to sounds, effects and performance settings without interrupting your playing.
Store your favourite combinations using Yamaha's Live Set memories and recall them instantly throughout your performance.
Its lightweight chassis also makes transport considerably easier than many traditional stage keyboards.
