Authentic Acoustic Piano Feel
Graded Hammer Standard (GHS) Keyboard
The YDP-146 features Yamaha’s Graded Hammer Standard (GHS) keyboard, engineered to replicate the natural weight and response of an acoustic grand piano.
- Heavier touch in the lower register for realistic bass response
- Lighter touch in the upper register for expressive melodic control
- Improved sensor precision for subtle dynamic expression
- Consistent, balanced key response for developing proper technique
This carefully designed action makes the YDP-146 especially suitable for beginners who want to build correct finger strength and control from the very beginning of their learning journey.
The result is a keyboard that feels natural, responsive, and expressive—closely mirroring the experience of playing a traditional acoustic piano.
Yamaha CFX Grand Piano Sound
At the heart of the YDP-146 is the world-renowned Yamaha CFX Concert Grand Piano voice, faithfully reproduced using advanced sampling technology.
This flagship piano sound delivers:
- Deep, powerful bass tones with rich resonance
- Bright, singing treble with clarity and presence
- Balanced tonal character across the entire keyboard
- Expressive dynamics that respond to touch intensity
Every note is carefully captured to preserve the emotional depth and nuance of Yamaha’s premium concert grand piano.
Combined with Virtual Resonance Modeling Lite (VRM Lite), the YDP-146 recreates the natural sympathetic resonance of strings, soundboard, and cabinet—bringing realism to every performance.
Immersive Sound Experience
The YDP-146 is equipped with a high-quality stereo speaker system designed to project sound with clarity and depth.
- 8W × 2 amplifier system
- 12 cm speaker units with diffuser technology
- Wide sound dispersion for room-filling audio
The diffuser grille helps spread sound evenly throughout the room, ensuring a rich and immersive listening experience whether you are playing softly or performing more dynamically.
Additional technologies such as Intelligent Acoustic Control (IAC) and Stereophonic Optimizer further enhance balance and clarity, especially when using headphones.
