Yamaha CSP 295 review from Barry Mills, Product Support Specialist at Rimmers: “The CSP series is now available with not only a range of new exciting features, but also a new upright piano style cabinet! The CSP 295 is the latest addition to the series, with a meticulously detailed piano action featuring linear-graded hammers and even key counterweights. I recommend this instrument to amateurs and professionals alike, due to its GP Response Damper and Grand Acoustic Imaging, along with the fantastic Spruce Cone Speaker. You also have the flexibility of connecting the 295 to your iPad with Yamaha’s user-friendly app."
Touch & Feel The CSP 295 has the greatest length of keys of all Yamaha digital pianos, giving the player more leverage and allowing for better expressive control. The 88-key linear-graded hammers of the clavinova is the first of its kind to duplicate grand piano touch with differing weights and key return on each one of its keys. In addition, this instrument features carefully adjusted counterweights for improved playability when playing pianissimo with a light touch, or practising rapid passages.Sound Quality The latest Virtual Resonance Modelling applies to the piano voices on the CSP 295. What this means is your digital piano effortlessly recreates the distinct sound of a grand piano. In addition, the Grand Expression Modeling introduced in the CSP-200 Series translates the nuances of a pianist’s fingers into the same tonal variation of a grand piano. In addition, binaural sampling offers a stunning experience when playing with headphones.GP Response Damper Pedal The GP Response Damper Pedal of the CSP 295 offers a grand piano-style resistance curve, starting out light to the touch and growing heavier as the pedal is depressed further. This allows amateur players to become accustomed to the nuances of delicate pedalling.Premium Piano Samples The CSP Series lets you enjoy playing with hundreds of voices. This includes the Yamaha CFX (a top-flight concert grand piano) and the piano of choice at competitions around the world, the Bösendorfer Imperial grand piano. The range of voices is not limited to pianos; on the CSP 295 you have the freedom to choose from a variety of instruments, allowing you to experiment with a range of musical genres.Stream Lights Stream Lights, used with the interactive scores shown in the Smart Pianist app, guides you to the next keys. You can set this function for the left or right hand only, or slow the tempo at the difficult parts to help you Practice. There is even a Guide function that pauses the song until you play the correct keys. This feature also works brilliantly with the SmartPianist app. If you want to learn the chords to your favourite song, the app analyses song data and creates chord charts to suit your playing level. All you have to do is then follow the lights to recreate the tune.Top Of The Range Speakers Only available on the CSP 295 is a powerful 3-way system, featuring mid and treble units, as well as bass speakers. All units are optimally balanced and placed accordingly in the body to simulate the sound image of a grand piano.Easy Mobile Connection Both Bluetooth® MIDI and Audio allows for an easy integration with your mobile devices, without the need for cables. Plus, connect to Yamaha’s SmartPianist app to select voices in a second, and adjust parameters like reverberation. The app also allows you to record a piece and then play it back - perfect to enhance your practice sessions.Yamaha CSP295 Key Features
