An acoustic piano provides the pianist with a full, amazing sensation that is almost impossible to replicate. With an acoustic piano, the sounds are produced from hammers striking the strings which then resonates and amplifies the sound. There are two types of acoustic pianos, the grand piano and the upright piano - the differences between the two are: Grand Piano - The most obvious one is the size, the longer body takes up more space, the strings are extended horizontally and after playing the keys, gravity resets the keys to resume to their resting position. Upright Piano - A lot more compact than a grand piano, therefore is usually the first option for people purchasing for their home as it is much more convenient. Spring mechanisms are used instead of gravity which resets the keys back. So, now we know the differences between the two; let's talk about the good stuff!

Sound

This is without a doubt, the most important aspect of a piano, and unsurprisingly the acoustic piano produces a beautiful sound. When the hammers strike the strings, an acoustic, authentic sound is produced, providing a warm natural tone. The sounds cannot be matched by a digital piano, that's why there is nothing quite like an acoustic. An acoustic piano allows you to fully express yourself, and if you are an experienced player you will understand the experience of using an acoustic and will know just how truly fantastic they are.

Maintenance

Ensuring that you maintain your instrument will give you the best experience out of it - the same goes for any other instrument you own! Acoustic pianos must be maintained, as they are made from natural materials over the years they will degrade naturally and will have wear on them - this is why we recommend maintaining them. It is best to have your piano tuned once every 6 months to ensure it doesn't go out of tune and that you aren't lacking quality. Humidity control is also very important to monitor so that you don't affect the elements of the piano.

As we said earlier, the sounds of an acoustic piano are almost impossible to replicate and the same applies to the feel of the piano Each key has a weight behind it that makes it unique to an acoustic piano. Pianos have textured keys that prevent fingers from slipping during faster play, so when you are transitioning from note to note the playability factor is better!
