The engineering of Viscount organs is first class. Initially, they were built as ‘home entertainment instruments’ designed for families to gather around and have a sing-song with inbuilt rhythms and a limited number of different sounds. They have had to work hard to shake off that reputation and to be taken seriously amongst classical organ circles but have now become a major player and at the forefront of the digital organ market. The Viscount organs use Physis technology, which is a computer generated physical model of an organ pipe. This means you are able to set individual soundboards for each division of the organ (eg. Great, Swell etc). With this system you can place these divisions authentically where you would like them to replicate any particular organ case and in effect replicate any organ you so choose. The sound is also further enhanced by the micro variations reproduced by Physis, meaning as you add more stops to build up the sound, the model subtlety changes the ensemble sound just as a traditional pipe organ blowing air through more pipes.
