The Transacoustic system opens up a whole new range of functionalities including a library of fantastic sounds and voices, built-in songs, recording facility and even a headphone output for late night practising! Yamaha has created a brand new way to enjoy such a storied instrument! Transacoustic technology allows for a whole range of sounds including, Grand Pianos, Harpsichords, Electric Pianos and many more, to be played out loud as well as just through headphones like a standard digital piano. This also allows for full volume control without any loss of sound quality or most importantly tone, however, the instrument does not rely on speakers to amplify the digital sounds. How is this possible? Well, Yamaha has decided to use transducers which convert source signals into vibrations, therefore, the entire piano resonates and vibrates exactly how it would with an acoustic sound! This means that the digital sounds you hear and play are extremely realistic because they are resonating off the real piano's soundboard like an acoustic instrument would naturally do! With the Transacoustic system, you are also able to play back audio files so you can now listen back to your recorded creations with a speaker like no other… a natural piano soundboard! Not only that, the Yamaha Transacoustic pianos can also be used as Silent pianos, which is another range of instruments that Yamaha produce- this means you are getting two completely different pieces of technology in one system! Silent pianos allow for the player to plug in headphones and play using Yamaha CFX Binaural sampling. The CFX Concert Grand is Yamaha’s king of acoustic Grand instruments, their top of the range 9ft Concert instrument with a sound that is absolutely unreal- binaural sampling gives you the exact sound of the CFX Concert Grand within the Transacoustic upright piano! This is all also beneficial not just because of an absolutely outstanding Concert Grand Piano in your living- room, but also because it gives you no limitation on practice hours. No matter what time of day or night just plug in your headphones and away you go without disturbing neighbours or family members.
