Yamaha LP1 Triple Pedal Unit White for Yamaha DGX670, PS500, P225, P525
The Yamaha LP1 pedal unit adds three-pedal piano control for Yamaha digital pianos.
In terms of pedal control, only a single sustain pedal is included with most stage pianos. For some people, this may be perfectly adequate. Those who were taught on an acoustic piano, however, may well miss the functionality of the additional two pedals. The LP1 replicates the functionality of acoustic piano pedals. The rightmost pedal is a sustain pedal, holding the decay of played notes for as long as the pedal is depressed.
THE ACOUSTIC PIANO PEDAL EXPERIENCE
The left pedal replicates the una-corda, or soft pedal. On a piano, this makes the hammers hit just a single piano string, making the note softer, this is replicated digitally via the LP1. Finally, the centre pedal is a sostenuto pedal. This will sustain notes that are held at the point the pedal is depressed, and held until the pedal is released.
Where it differs from the regular sustain pedal is that notes that are played after the pedal is depressed will not be sustained. For example, you can play a sustained chord, then play a staccato melody over the top.
The Yamaha LP1 pedal unit is constructed to Yamaha’s famously high standards, and finished to match the your version of the piano and stand.
